>> ama: san francisco police are looking for a man who is accused of setting a woman on fire. that happened just after noon in the bayview district. sergio quintana has been following the story and joins us live with what happened. reporter: witnesses who saw what happened describe a gruesome attack. they say a man lit a woman on fire a half block down the street. she then ran about another block that way, trying to get home for help. >> a smoldering sweater in the middle of the street is what 25-year-old star lamar was wearing when her family says her boyfriend, 22-year-old detects ter oliver, doused her with gasoline and then lit her on fire. he sister says she is in critical condition at st. francis hospital. >> they had dead skin, and

auntie hasn't win to see her yet. they said she's doing fine. >> according to the family, the couple began yelling at each other at the laundromat down the street. at one point the argument go so heated he allegedly ran home to get some gasoline, then ran back towards the laundromat. >> i saw him pour gasoline some a bottle, and he left. i didn't know he was going to burn her. >> we watched as investigators collected gasoline canisters from their home. witnesses who called 9-1-1 say they heard the couple arguing in the street, then saw the victim on fire. they agreed to talk to us on the condition we not release their identities because of concern for their safety. >> she took off her shirt and dropped it over there, and then she was running, because she was -- she got burned. and then the guy, i guess had burned her, went through her purse and then went that way. >> she was basically running, and she was just screaming. that's what we heard.

>> as part of the vogue police are collecting images from video cam florida the neighborhood. now in the last hour, san francisco police released this picture of the suspect, 22-year-old dexter oliver. they're asking anyone who may know where he is to give them a call. as for the victim in this situation, her family tells me that she has three children, and she had been dating the suspect for only about six months. reporting live in san francisco, sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> ama: san jose police are investigating the city's first hd homicide of 2013. a body was found this morning in the driveway of a home on then 1900 block of tripoli avenue. police say the victim was found with at least one gunshot wound. police say the victim lived at the house. some of the people living there were taken to the police station for questioning. a 22-year-old man is dead following an early morning crash in san jose. it happened around 2:30 on south first street under the 280

overpass. police say a blue bmw swerved, hit two light poles and rolled over, an officer heard the crash. when he arrived the driver was already dead. drugs are alcohol are not suspected to be a cause of the crash at this time. an alert citizen helped san jose police catch a thief who was stealing packages off front poaches. andrew phillips stafford of union city was arrested after a neighbor called 9-1-1 to report someone stealing two packages if a proven. -- porch. he is facing charges of's of stolen property and narcotics. >> nhl players will strap their skates on again after reaching an agreement with the owners. that means the san jose sharks will return to action as soon as the league resumes play. the two sides emerged with a deal this morning after 16 hours of talk. they agreed on a ten-year deal where owners and players will spit revenue, 50-50.

the players have been locked out for 113 days after the two sides were unable to reach a new collective bargaining agreement. more than 620 nhl games through january 14th have been cancelled. the nhl had models for a 50 and 48 game season but schedule issues have to be work out. we'll have more in sports. >> it is official. new parking rules in police today in san francisco. we will have a live report. plus, a different kind of parking battle as a neighborhood rallies against parkless. and the new debate in washington and what could it mean for your money. >> leigh: i'm meteorologist leigh glaser. the bay area cleared out nicely this afternoon but

>> starting today drivers in san francisco have to feed the meters on sunday and most drivers aren't taking it well. we're live in san francisco with the story. reporter: reaction to this is mixed. that may be because so many people actually bike in the city. for those who want to come to church or enjoy a sunday brunch thissing going to hurt. >> people were feeding parking meters today. this is the first day of sunday enforced parking fees. >> i think it's a pain. i can understand where san francisco is coming from. they need to pay their bills, we need to pay ours. but it's really inconstant event for us considering parking is

free on sunday. >> the city thinks rate necessary because sundays have become regular business days which wasn't the same a decade ago. they decided parking spaces need to rotate more often to let visitors get a chance to park. those who run religious programs will affect attendance. >> i won't get my volunteers to stay. it runs through 12:30. people won't leave because a $75 parking ticket is not worth it to them. >> park can meters will operate from noon until 6:00 p.m. that was done to accommodate the faith community maas many sfs end before noon. the new program is expected to bring in an additional $2 million actually. today parking enforcement officers went throughout the city putting informational havelets on windshields instead of the dreaded tickets. drivers are getting ample warn before they get ticketed. >> no one was ticketed or will be for the next two sunday, but

of patchy dense fog in the valley areas by tomorrow morning. dry weather will be with us the next few days and then things will start to cool back down as we look for a big chill at the end of the work week. here's a look at our lows tonight. with clouds peeling back, it will mean some cooler temperatures for us. so up 30ers in the north bay as well as antioch, livermore, 36 degrees. watch out for pockets of dense valley fog in the north bay. out towards the delta, east bay locations. 46 for san francisco, and san jose tomorrow morning, 43 degrees. our low, there it went. clearing from north bay to south bay today. of course that clearing brought out lots of sunshine. for monday and tuesday, high pressure builds in, and you can see it will keep this cold front to the north of us. the storm track will shift to the north as high pressure builds in. on wednesday and thursday, this high with start to break down and might see a few isolated
